Police are hunting the man who grabbed a seven-year-old girl with Down’s Syndrome by the hair before throwing her into the road.

Sky Preston was walking hand-in-hand with her dad Alan Dale, 34, when the man, who was wearing a black baseball cap, approached them from behind.
Her father said the stranger then grabbed Skye and threw her to the ground causing her to bang her head and scrape her hands and knees. The incident happened about 11.15am on Friday as she left Sunderland’s Eye Infirmary. Alan said: ‘I was holding her hand at the time, but he just came up, grabbed her, and threw her into the road and shouted at her.
‘It was just the shock of her falling over.’ The dad, who lives with partner Cordelia Preston, 47, in Bearpark, Durham, added: ‘It’s a horrible thing to have happened to her and I just hope the police catch him so we can have justice.’ The offender is described by police as a male in his early twenties.
